Your environment determines the level of satisfaction in you life. False.
Am I saying stay where you are even if you are not satisfied? No. I would always encourage everyone to set their environment up for success. But, I would like to present a slightly different perspective.
Are you the kind of person that is always looking for the next thrill? Are you constantly looking at social media for distraction? Do you work constantly to keep your mind occupied? Or use drugs and alcohol to numb boredom?
I know how you feel. I’ve been there.
This to me means we have a feeling of unsatisfaction or feeling we have to be doing something in order to get where we want to be, anywhere but where we are at that moment.
Here are 3 easy ways to kick that feeling of disatisfaction to the curb.
Gratitude. I know you’ve heard and seen this before but have you ever giving this an honest try? Specially, with social media nowadays we are always looking and coveting that which we do not have. But what if you stopped and took inventory of what you DO have? How would that help? For starters, it will shift our focus and perspective for at least a moment. It is not always enough to write down what we are grateful for but you really have to feel it!
Journaling. This is one of my favorites! I am the kind of person that loves writing. Sometimes when I start getting this unsettling feeling, for me it feels like frustration or boredom, I stop and do some automatic writing. What is automatic writing? It is really just writing whatever you are thinking as you think it. It’s such a fun way to really know what’s going through your mind. It gives a feeling of release to just getting things out without having to vent to someone else and bring them down with you. Many times I burn whatever comes out on paper. Yes! It is helpful if you don’t want others to see it or it can just be symbolic of riding yourself from certain feelings.
The last thing is Reiki. Yes, I practice Reiki every chance I get. Why Reiki? Tapping into this universal force just gives you the peace to sit with whatever is happening without judgment. It is my favorite way to just BE. Just for today BE okay with whoever and whatever you have.
